Cederberg Wilderness Area to Cape Town

Last morning taking down the tent - yay! This last camp was a nice little camp with not much in the way of amenities - but did have WIFI throughout. Each site had a little toilet/shower/kitchen prep block with poorly placed power points!

I decided that I have had it with gravel and early morning hills so rode in the “party bus” on the way out as did Sue who is nursing her shoulder. The downhills on the way back to the main highway are on tarmac but are very steep and through roadworks. Charles said he made it up to 75 km/hr on one trip. No thanks - the thrill in the bus on the narrow winding roads was enough excitement for me!

Reunited with the group near Clanwilliam, we headed south to Cape Town. Mountains spread apart and plains opened up - lots of nice agricultural land here…and some wonky labels spotted at a bushy-bushy stop:

Signs of the day:

Not sure a honey badger is a good corporate mascot for the hospitality industry!

When we got closer to Cape Town it was back on the bikes for flat ride along the western beaches for a photo op with table mountain in the background. Worst ride of trip!!!!! Narrow roads,  narrow bike lane, cars, cars, cars too close and, ferocious headwinds. And just to make me feel even more at home, a bus cut me off at a stop. Give me sandy gravel over this any day! If we don’t have tail winds tomorrow, I’m busing back!

A nice seafood dinner in the V&A area made it all right though :-)
